I have Irish and British nationality and have lived in Belgium for over a decade and before that widely in eastern Europe. My children and their mother are Bulgarian. I have a PhD in political philsophy and contributed to Red Pepper (where I was credited on the masthead), Tribune, The New Intentanioanlist, Planet and the Ecologist. Most recently, my work focuses on the causes and consequences of the Ukraine war. I am particularly keen to oppose the increasing militarisation of the EU, to address the climate emergency and to prevent the collapse of European social model.
